![]() Is there a kit you can buy that has everything that i would need for this set up? If so where's best to buy? Cheers I would say unless its a full on no compromise track car leave in your standard mech and just fit a bias box under the bonnet. My main reason for fitting it was because I wanted the space under the bonnet for an oil tank though. I cut into the bulkhead and made a recess for the cylinders to sit in, then made up a frame for it to sit on so its level and can handle a good stamp on the brakes if required. You could get one with rear facing cylinders, but would need to fab up a false floor, and it will sit higher and most likely foul the steering UJ unless modified. This means moving the drivers seat, gear lever and handbrake back then extending the steering column. When assembled the handle needs to be pointing up say at 85 degree towards the rear in a comfortable position to suit you the driver to achieve the best in handbrake manoeuvres with very little movement and effort.Worth considering your seating position, as a floor mounted box with forward facing cylinders will sit further into the car than your original pedals. Remember this unit requires individual refinement and greasing between the handle and the body – gently filing the handle in the area were the phosphor bronze split bushes are fitted ensures a precision fit this will probably require removing the powder coating in this area. These systems are for competition use only.įirstly find a suitable position to mount the body either on or at the side of the tunnel then secure the body before assembling the rest of the components. ![]() These Hydraulic handbrakes are constructed out of lightened steel with a Black powder coat finish, giving you an extremely strong product that will last a lifetime.
